The Spanish language has is origin in North-Central Spain, more precisely in the Kingdom of Castile, where it evolved and finally became the main language of the government and trade. Therefore, Spanish is today also called castellano. Spanish is spoken throughout Spain, in most of the countries of Americas, as well as in the Philippines and Equatorial Guinea.
Spanish an inflected language, has two genders as well as about fifty conjugated forms per verb. The nouns and pronouns are not declined.
The first Spanish grammer was written in 1492, by an Andalusian linguist called Antonio de Nebrija. It was the first grammar of all Romance languages.
